Title I Plan for Shared Student Achievement
What is Title I?
Title I, part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), provides federal funding to support schools in
ensuring that every student has the tools they need to succeed academically. Farmington Elementary
uses these resources to enhance our educational programs, improve student outcomes, and foster a
closer connection between the school and our families.
What is a Parent Engagement Policy? At Farmington Elementary, our Parent Engagement Policy
describes how we partner with families to support student learning and success. We focus on clear
communication, collaborating with parents in decision-making, and providing helpful resources so families
feel empowered to help their children at home.
How is the Policy Created and Revised? We value your input! Every year, Farmington Elementary
updates the Parent Engagement Policy with feedback from parents, teachers, and staff. We gather ideas
through surveys, meetings, and school events to ensure that our policy reflects the needs and desires of
our wonderful community.
Who is the Policy For? This policy is for all families at Farmington Elementary. We want every parent
and guardian to feel welcome and supported in being actively involved in their child’s education.
At Farmington Elementary, we believe that strong family engagement is key to student success.
Here's how we keep parents informed and involved:
● Annual Title I Meeting: To make it easier for all families to participate, our Annual Title I meeting
will be held online this year, using a Google Form and an accompanying PowerPoint
presentation.
● Timely Communication: We use multiple channels to keep you informed, including:
○ Wednesday folders sent home with your child
○ Flexible meeting times to accommodate different schedules
○ Documents provided in languages other than English as needed
○ The Farmington Elementary and district websites
○ Meet the Teacher Night, Open House, and parent surveys
● Workshops and Conferences: We offer workshops on various topics such as understanding the
curriculum, assessments, and ways to support learning at home. Regular parent-teacher
conferences also provide a time to talk about your child’s progress and set academic goals
together.
● School-Parent Compact: This is a shared agreement that outlines the roles of the school,
parents, and students in supporting success. Simply flip this document over to review FES’s
School-Parent Compact.
● Reservation of Funds: A portion of Title I funds is set aside to support parent and family
engagement activities. This allows us to host events such as Literacy Night and provide training
for our staff in communication and family engagement.
