Farmington Elementary Honors Heroes with Heartfelt Veterans Day Program

Farmington Elementary School proudly hosted a heartwarming Veterans Day program to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. The event, organized and led by the talented music teachers Amy Assad, Derek Brookshire, and Taylor Gibson, brought together the entire school community for a memorable and meaningful morning.

The program featured moving speeches from our 5th-grade students, who shared personal stories about veterans in their families. These heartfelt tributes highlighted the deep gratitude and respect that permeate our community, as the students’ words reminded everyone of the personal sacrifices made by so many.

Each grade level showcased their appreciation through a series of beautifully performed songs. Their voices filled the room with a sense of unity and pride, as parents, staff, and veterans listened intently. The school choir, under the direction of Amy Assad, delivered a stirring performance, while the Guitar Club, led by Derek Brookshire and Taylor Gibson, added an impressive musical touch to the event.

A particularly poignant moment came when Spencer Nesvick played “Taps” on the trumpet, a solemn and respectful tribute that resonated with everyone present.

The program was a testament to Farmington Elementary’s commitment to teaching students the importance of honoring and remembering those who have served. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the veterans who attended, sharing their presence and stories with our school, and to all the teachers, students, and staff who worked tirelessly to make this event a success.

This Veterans Day program was more than just a gathering; it was a powerful reminder of the values we cherish and the heroes who have safeguarded them. Farmington Elementary is proud to come together as a community to express our deepest gratitude and respect.
