Farmington Faculty Hosts Storybook Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest to Aid Hurricane Victims

In October, Farmington Elementary combined creativity, school spirit, and kindness with its Faculty Storybook Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Faculty members showcased their artistic talents by decorating pumpkins to resemble beloved characters from children's books.

Students voted for their favorite pumpkins by donating one dollar to the pumpkin of their choice. The pumpkin from 3rd grade called Shark Attack won, but the true winners were the hurricane victims in East Tennessee. All funds raised were donated to support those affected by the storms, teaching students an important lesson about compassion and giving back to those in need.

The contest not only engaged students and staff but also highlighted the power of kindness. By voting, students made a meaningful impact, demonstrating that even small acts of generosity can make a big difference.
